Now this is funny. Who is 3rd? Fordham, Pace, American, Juilliard? Not much competition.

I think the best two baseball teams in metro NY are the Yankees and Mets.

It's to pre-emptively stop anyone from claiming that Syracuse or Duke or ??? owns NY City... our resident pessimists are chomping at the bit to claim this.

And it's a way of saying that even though St John's has had some off years since 2000, in the end they're the best team that resides in the largest city in North America... so they won't be completely lost in the wilderness like football Boise State might be soon... or think of the Knicks compared to the Sacramento Kings.

And, yes, the Mets and Yankees are the best 2 baseball teams in NY... that's why they're both so valuable.

The funniest part about this is that the argument isn't even between St. John's and Seton Hall fans. This thread is on page 7 and the last post from a Seton Hall fan was mine all the way back on page 3! The argument is just between SJHooper and... people with common sense??

But really, we all just need to accept that SJHooper is the smartest person on this board and listen to what he said. Obviously the current teams and any sort of recent history is completely irrelevant. The only things that matter are that SJU has 28 tournament appearances and were really good in the 70s and 80s. So because they were really good over 25 years ago they're obviously going to win the Big East and national championships this year and every year going forward, and anyone who thinks otherwise is a moron.

Also, nobody in the tri-state area ever wear SHU gear because he's never seen anyone wearing any in his mom's basement.

I'm sure this post won't illicit any response from the Red Storm faithful. Prediction: 10+ page thread by tomorrow.

Unprecedented response calls for unprecedented measures. I will create a 24 hour vote off for 6th place between St. John's and Seton Hall. The school with the most votes will be 6th place and the school with the least votes will be 5th place. Then I will start a 4th place poll tomorrow.
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.
