Death, taxes, and DePaul at the bottom of the Big East. Though I can't say I blame the people voting Marquette and Creighton. Butler I expect to be better than last year.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

I wish I could give you a reason why DePaul won't finish in last place, but I can't think of one.

I remember when X played there last year. It was honestly a tight game, with Garrett Jr. balling. Then all of sudden Depaul's best player (forget his name) throws a fit and decides to sit out the second half.

DePaul needs to replace their Head Coach (Oliver Purnell) and Athletic Director (Jean Lenti Ponsetto). It is embarrassing to the Big East Conference. DePaul is the largest (by student body) school currently in the Big East as well as the largest Catholic university in the United States of America. DePaul likely would have been 9th place last season had they not suspended and eventually expelled their best player (Cleveland Melvin). It is amazing that DePaul will have a new 10,000 seat arena on the Near South Side of Chicago (at McCormick Place) after 3 more seasons playing at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL. Billy Garrett, Jr. is an excellent player for DePaul. Unfortunately he is their only excellent player.

Garret is a great player, and Hamilton should get better this year. Other than that they really don't have much. They'll probably get hot and win a couple games, but not enough to stay out of last.

I like Garrett, but he's not a great player. Kid shot 36% from the field last year.

When the best thing you can say about your best player is that he's smart and he knows how to draw fouls, then you're in trouble.

Not sure who voted for Creighton, but I'd be shocked if they finish 10th. While they obviously are in serious rebuilding mode, they return their starting PG in Chatman, and their most explosive player in Brooks; they also add in Cal transfer Ricky Kreklow and two top-100 freshman. I see a 6th-7th place finish for them this season, with 2015 looking very, very good given the transfers/recruits they have lined up.

About time for the 9th place poll? That should be interesting. I know some want a couple of bad teams to provide wins for the top teams, but I don't see that happening. Butler's seriously undervalued going into the season, imo, and Creighton's not going to fall off the face of the earth.
