This is quite a win for Maryland. Maryland, in effect, did not have to write a check to leave the ACC. They simply did not get the $31MM league revenue due them. The ACC wanted $52MM, so Maryland gets to walk away without paying about 40 percent of the money. That's quite the discount. With the Big Ten Network revenue coming in, Maryland won't be set back at all by the $31MM they forfeited. Big Ten Network revenue per school in 2013 was somewhere around $26MM per school. I am sure Maryland won't get a full Network share for some time, but they will make up the $31MM in two years or less. The per school projection for 2 years out is $45MM.
