Who wins Big East Player of the Year next season?

The best player on the best team usually has a pretty good shot so I'll go with JVP because I believe VU will repeat as regular season champs. Others in contention, IMO, depending on how their teams do (in no particular order):

DSR - Gtwn
Jordan - SJU
Dunham - Butler
Henton - Prov
Stainbrook - X

Am I the only one who thinks Hilliard is the best player on Nova? He'd be one of my top five candidates. It really is a hard question with not many sure fire choices right now.

Worth revisiting an old topic to get talking hoops again. I think the trinity of Arch / Pinkston / Hillard will be a prohibitive favorite unless someone like Rysheed can really elevate his team in conference play. If SJU is near the top of the Big East in February there would be some added excitement and that could be enough if the Nova guys split votes.

While I love me some (slimmed down) Big Stain, Jalen Reynolds will be a 15/10 guy next season. Tre Blueitt may very well be the leading scorer. X by committee will have a nice roster, but I can't imagine a player of the year from the group.

If your really think Reynolds will be a 15/10 guy than you certainly can imagine a POY from that group.

Like gibbs a lot, but will he have the ball in his hands as much as last year with Whitehead and crew coming in?

Yeah for a couple of reasons:

1) Only 3 returning players Gibbs, Sina & Mobley who saw major minutes last season, so their experience & leadership is going to be crucial for KW on the court. I think Gibbs is the defacto leader on the team actually.

2) Almost certain we will be in 3 guard mode most of the time like Nova.

3) Gibbs' little brother Temple (NJ Playaz combo guard class '16) is blowing up this summer & the Hall is heavily in the mix so I think he's watching how his brother is being developed at SHU. Temple will likely be a top 50 player in his senior year.

It's likely Sina is the one who will get shorted minutes b/c of Whitehead & Carrington (people are sleeping on Khadeen).

I think if one were to poll the Villanova fan base, Hilliard would be the runaway winner as the best player on the team. Pinkston would be second with Archie a distant third. However, if Pinkston has developed a 15' jumper over the course of the summer, then all bets are off.

But I wouldn't sleep on DSR. He's going to be the focal point of the Hoya offense and I'm guessing he's going to have a monster year.
