Big East NCAA appearances since 2008-09 in 5 sports

Marquette site posted this. Looks like they added women's soccer (which they had 6 appearances) because they sponsor that sport and not softball/baseball which I think are more important. Interesting nonetheless.

Seton Hall - ZERO? ouch.
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.

Seton Hall would have some numbers if baseball was included.
PC I'm pretty sure has at least 3 men's soccer bids instead of 2 shown... plus a men's ice hockey bid (Frozen 8)...
Nice graphics and good topic.

Why is 08-09 the starting point?maybe I'm wrong but don't most people do things like this in gaps of 3, 5, 10 etc? 6 just seems a bit odd. Not saying it was purposely skewed for MU but just kinda random.

It may be 6 because that's how long NCAA units run in basketball at least(not sure about the other sports).....

It would have made more sense if that wasn't the case to have done it from the 2005-06 season(the 1st year of the new Big East setup when we went to 16).

Yea, this is definitely skewed. I always hate when stats are cherry picked, I see it all the time in Baseball. "Well Todd Frazier is hitting 400 on every other Thursday away game." or "Todd Frazier is hitting 400 since June 26" while his real average is 200 or something.

I think the hitting 400 every other Thursday isn't really valid- really random- but someone hitting 400 since June 26 is a lot more valid. (btw, Frazier is batting 261 since June 26!) Sometimes folks figure things out- and from that point on, they are a different player. I see it coaching youth basketball all the time. Just all of a sudden they have this a ha moment and then never look back.

Creighton would get a nice additional bump if baseball was included too.

Well DUH. Marquette produced it so of course they're going to choose the dates that best benefit their graphic.
“All men dream; but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act out their dreams with open eyes to make it possible”

I don't get the relevancy of this graphic at all. Seems to me that Marquette simply cherry picked the sports that would pad it's stats. If I were to put a similar graphic depiction for Villanova, off the top of my head I would include football, basketball, lacrosse and also try to get some credit for our men's and women's track and cross country teams. Am I missing something?
