Poster on the RU Rivals board several days ago said that he heard IB's final three schools will be... wait for it... RU, STJ & Zona

Hmmm....

So you went to an RU board & found some poster's opinion about what IB's final 3 list will be (surprise surprise no SHU) & then to bring it back here as proof of what exactly? Have you even listened to what IB has to say for himself. Since when does hearing from the most = my top 3 are? This is from Peach Jam this past weekend.

At this point he's playing everything close to the vest so any rumor is as bad as the next. Maybe you're just a pessimist when it comes to Seton Hall (u've been pushing that we don't have a chance w/IB & KW can't recruit stuff already) but to go bring a rumor from a Rutgers board to a Big East board when nothing else out there supports it is weak.

Is it really that out of bounds to say that KW has had a VERY hard time recruiting and still needs to prove he can recruit without having to hire 3 assistant coaches to directly land players?

2 Questions... 1) Before this 2014 recruiting class how many Top150 guys did Kevin Willard/Shaheen close on? 2) In the past 14 years how many 5* Top 20 recruits have committed to SHU?

Plus, if you go back to last year Whitehead was much more outspoken about SHU than Briscoe seems to be (But Briscoe doesn't seem to mind mentioning StJ & Zona quite often). And everyone meerly thought he was placating SHU. And he probably was until we told him that we'd hire Tiny and take his bestfriend Desi.

Remember, many sources and insiders (including Lavin, apparently) went to bed the night before IW committed to SHU certain that he was going to StJ and then it all changed the next day, late morning...

These are the reasons for seeing things the way I do.

But enough of this, because you have your unchanging opinion. And I have my unchanging "prove it" opinion towards KW and recruiting.

Simple question: of the local schools would you rather be right now SHU, SJU or RU? Just be aware I'm not leading the KW for president parade here but skipping over last year's success to make your point is a pure academic exercise. Do you really think recruits, coaches & scouts don't view SHU differently now b/c o last year's class. If SHU was as weak as you seem to believe Delgado would have left with Antigua. He's a top 40 player that's never played a minute at SHU & stuff like that happens all the time, yet you ignore that fact. Also your point about IW is based on rumors not fact. IW was quoted as saying a conversation w/Emanuel Muliday convinced him that he would rather go to a program that needed him (SHU/SMU) than one that simply wanted him.

With such a large recruiting class last year this year's class really doesn't have the make or break pressure you seem to be pushing. Hell there's only 4 former McD's AA in the BE now & SHU has one and is on the list of IB a likely McD AA. When's the last time we've been in the mix like that....10+ yrs ago. I can't imagine how down you would be if we didn't have a top 10-15 class coming in lol. Remember we've lost one of the greatest players in SHU history in Edwin yet we are reloading with IW & co. If you think that's a small accomplishment, just look at Creighton trying to reload after McBuckets. Butler fans lost Brad Stevens & Roosevelt Jones going into their first season in the BE yet they remained/remain optimistic on a whole, while you seem to take last season's recruiting success as a justification to be down about this season.

It's only July hardly any top recruits have signed anywhere so why expect SHU to have announced anything big at this point? And of the few that have many have decomitted already: Dickerson (Hoyas), Dorsey (Arizona), McQuaid (SMU), Butts (RU), etc. Look I'm not into beefing w/fellow SHU fans, there's only about 3 of us on here as far as I can tell but it's crazy to think that this would be the year to go negative after all the craziness & turnover that has gone on over the last decade.

Not Rutgers...

Not Rutgers...

Apparently not St. John's either for IW today

Isaiah Whitehead ‏@Isaiah_W15: Feeling Good At SHU Real Family Atmosphere I Love It I Think I Made The Perfect Choice #SHBB

True SHU fans know our program is about way more than just assistant coaching hires, the key is getting high level recruits to give the Hall & the nBE a chance. Last year we got at least 2 of those players to do that in IW & Angel Delgado.

Love IW game, and not trying to change subject but who would Seton Hall fans rather have this year. IW or Rysheed Jordan. Other schools feel free to chime in. I think RJ is in for a big big year.
