Tim Brando joins Fox Sports

Excellent, excellent news. Congrats to him and Fox Sports. It will be a terrific partnership, and it only further legitimizes Fox Sports as a competitor to ESPN. We all knew, hopefully, that it wouldn't happen overnight. With Gus Johnson, Bill Raferty, Erin Andrews, and, now, Brando, Fox Sports is gathering quite the crew of commentators.

Very exciting times for the network.

Very important news to me quite frankly. In football for them to steal a SEC guy- just can't measure that importance. I think that's the thing that is almost more important than the Big East piece even. We'll benefit from him calling games no doubt. But Fox's football will improve greatly as a result of this.

Brando loves golf and has guest on his radio show on sirius xm. I would be shocked if he is not working the US Open next year.

As for Tim Brando working Big East games. I would guess it would be more on the weekend, since he works a game during the week for Raycom Sports on ACC basketball.

I've never been a Brando fan. That being said, he's a good get for Fox.

This is the best news of the off-season with the exception of the B10 and BE series. Brando is class and his sirius radio show is tops. He is best as an interviewer. Was there an announcement about Brando and the US Open? If so I missed it.

Nothing about the US Open, I remember reading that Greg Norman and Joe Buck were going to do it but I guess that can always change.

Tim Brando's radio show will be taking a break untill July 21. They said it will be a time change, as a start time one hour later to hope fit the TV side of things. They left the door open on that.

think I heard/saw somethign about Buck- but remember- you need more than just 1 guy. I know CBS for instance has not only Jim Nantz, but also Verne Lundquist that I can think of calling their golf. Also need an interview guy- bare minimum Brando would do great there....
