UMASS is screwed. I think their most realistic option is C-USA but that travel is disastrous and their football is about the same level as the MAC. I'm sure they are begging the AAC for an invite but they have no leverage. UMASS will only make AAC football more of a joke.

AAC has no reason to take UMass. UMass has no reason to leave the A10 for anything other than the AAC (at least the A10 has a tv contract). Grant of rights gets forgotten about every time someone brings up realignment. There will be no poaching of P5 schools until the GOR is up. This has nothing to do with exit fees, the Maryland case will decide nothing in regards to GOR's. UConn can no longer park their football in the MAC as an option, not that they were ever coming here anyway. Independence is not an option. Cutting the program is not an option. There are several expansion candidates for the Big East. All have good qualities. None are slam dunks. We probably should expand for bids. We probably should expand for tournament attendance. We probably shouldn't expand for rivalries. We probably shouldn't expand for round robin. We have an expansion thread for this.

I'm out.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
