Everyone needs to relax about the Big Eat and FS1. It's the first year, and the Big East just happens to be ESPN and all the "experts" whipping boy for conference realignment, which everyone knows it was not the Big East's fault. Think about 15 years ago, CNN was the dominant cable news network and it could not be challenged. Fast forward to today...seems like Fox cleaned that market up pretty well, right? Now, I'm not saying it will be that easy or at the end of the day their will be a clear winner or loser, but the people at Fox know what they're doing. With more and more conferences looking to have their own version of the "BTN" the Big East isn't going to be the only enemy our there for long. The Big East has a variety of markets, and has a couple major selling points. 1. You will be on national tv almost every game, your family will get to see you play all the time. 2. We are basketball focused, you will not play 2nd fiddle to football players on our campuses. Why don't we wait a few years before everyone starts pushing the panic button.

Totally agree about relaxing. The BE will be fine. But everyone should realize Fox Sports will not be built in a year. I think 5 years out is a fair date to benchmark the BE and Fox Sports and I think all of you will be happy with the results at that time.

Saying that, I think ESPN is such a dominant brand I don't buy the comparison to CNN that much. Even when it was the only provider, CNN did not have great ratings whereas ESPN does and has monetized its brand across the web, tv, etc.

Anyway, the BE had a down year and Fox Sports had its 1st year. Way too early to panic, it will work out well for all involved in the mid-term.
