Before player intros last night Ed Cooley walked to the Creighton end of the court to talk to Isaiah Zierden and pat him on the back. IZ is on crutches with a season ending knee injury suffered last week against X.

Class act, your coach.

I've said it before here, but I really like Cooley. Seems like a solid guy. And the Friar fans I saw in the CLink last night were good people. Saw a few stick around for the senior ceremonies too

The Providence fans I've encountered have blown me away with their class. I wish more fanbases would be as cool as they are. It's like they just love basketball for basketball and aren't afraid to admit another team has good players (Doug). I really like Ed Cooley, too.

Other BE fanbases probably have a different perception of PC fans than I do since they've battled the Friars for years, but there isn't a fanbase I like more right now than Providence's. We're the furthest away from eachother than any other BE members and yet they feel the most like us. At least in my interactions with PC fans.

I've been impressed with Big East team's fans in general. Much different from the Valley. MVC teams would never admit we were any good but there seems to be a mutual respect for eachother in this conference.

Loved my trip to Omaha (PC fan). Wish the game ended up a little different but had a great time with some Jays fans at the Old Mattress Factory and DJ's! Class acts all the way around.

What a great weekend to be in town otherwise, between Creighton Sat night and Nebraska last night.

I just took the time to read this entire thread and am amazed at how wrong Bill was in literally every single post (and he had a ton of them).

Thanks for reading all my posts and for taking the time to think about them. Greatly appreciate it. :D

You obviously hadn't taken any time to think about them, so somebody needed to... :D

I see we have a wise ass in the house.

Creighton earned respect this year. Everyone respects Doug McDermott, so no one is going to bother to rip him unless they're just trying to start an argument. And clearly, CU is the #1 or #2 team in the league. Villanova fans have to respect Creighton despite winning the league for obvious reasons.

I thought you would get the win too. What I objected to was the lack of respect. You continue to show the same lack of respect by stating that a loss to Providence would have been the equivalent to "laying an egg." See you at The Garden.

Again, I do not mean it as a slight against Providence. They are a very good team. The Jays haven't lost on Senior night in like 8 years and I had a pretty strong feeling that Doug's wasn't going to be the year we started. Remember when Wichita made the final four last year? They lost in Omaha on senior night. And if they had to come to Omaha last night I would have been confident we would have beaten them. Don't take it so personally.

Okay.

Congratulations on the win. You guys have a great team!

Cooley gave the Creighton team and fans a nice compliment in the second half of this short interview today. Around the 1:15 mark:
