How many more wins each team needs to get in

Unless Georgetown wins the conference tourney, I don't think they have a shot at an at-large bid... too many loses.

Nova got in last year at 20-13.

Georgetown if we make the SF would be 19-14. There's not that much of a difference there. plus, Georgeotwn would have wins over Creighton, Nova, VCU, Kansas St, and Michigan St. Nova had wins over Louisville, Syracuse, and Georgetown. I think in some ways the OOC component is even stronger than Nova last year making it.

My hunch, Georgetown beats Nova, we're not only in, but like at a 9 or 10 seed even.

You're wrong that's not the case. Xavier is closer than Georgetown. Providence is debatable. St. John's is the furthest from the tourney. They're they only team that has to reach the championship game to make the tournament. Look at Palm he has Georgetown last 4 out not St. Johns. Bracket Matrix has georgetown in 9 brackets to St. John's 8. Dance Card Has Georgetown in and St. John's out. Only Lunardi the worst Bracketologist out there has St. John's above Georgetown.

for the 5 millionth time Lunardi is not the worst bracketologist out there by any stretch. He's in the top third. Palm is MUCH worse than he is.

If the committee puts a lot of stock in noncon performance, Georgetown may be closer than we think simply because they have the big wins against Mich St, VCU and K St. The homer in me hopes that Georgetown loses to Creighton anyway, which puts them in the NIT unfortunately.

I think if Providence beats St Johns, they are in. If SJU wins, I think they probably need at least one more win after that; their weak noncon performance is really hurting them now. Luckily for SJU, they are playing games on (one of) their home floors, so they should be in good position to go on a run.

I could see the committee putting a 18-14 Georgetown team in over a 19-12 Xavier team. Like you said the OOC performance is huge. Also, the fact that Georgetown beat Xavier a few weeks ago before the injury is big. Losing to #84 Marquette would be a huge blow. Georgetown and Xavier would be almost equal in RPI. Record would be a lot closer than it looks because of the 1 non counting win for Xavier.

I don't have access to the ranking of bracketologists, The link keeps giving me an error, but from what I could find palm was 34th and Lunardi was 36th. So neither of them are great and no Lunardi is not in the top 1/3rd. He's not the worst of all the 96 whoever 2/3rds of these people are, but he's the worst of the ones people have heard of before.

that's because of his first few years. If you look at the actual data, he's been about 10 points stronger than Palm the last 2 years. Palm about average- Lunardi a bit above average.

Neither Palm nor Lunardi had American in their bracket yesterday. I guess they both suck.
