Tiebreakers?

What are the tiebreakers for BET seeding?

I am sure that when teams are tied, the initial tiebreaker has to be head to head (or head to head to head if there are three teams tied).

But what is the next tiebreaker if teams have equivalent head to head records, too?

For example:

The SJU / Marquette game is huge because they are both at 9-8. The winner will go to 10-8 and be "tied" with X in record. If Creighton beats Providence, Providence also goes to 10-8, making a three way tie at 10-8.

If it is SJU that wins against Marquette, you'd have X, Prov, SJU all at 10-8. In that scenario, I'm assuming X would be the 3 (by being 3-1 against Prov and SJU), Prov would be the 4 (by being 2-2 against X and SJU) and SJU would be the 5 (by being 1-3 against X and Prov).

But if it is Marquette that wins against SJU, you'd have X, Prov, and Marq all at 10-8. In that scenario, all of those teams split against each other and each would be 2-2 against the other teams. So how is that tiebreaker decided?

Similarly, if Marquette beats SJU, SJU falls to 9-9. If G'Town beats 'Nova, G'Town goes to 9-9. SJU and G'Town split against each other -- so how is that tiebreaker decided?

I can't seem to find anything on the Big East website to explain the tiebreakers. Anyone have any idea?

Here is an article from Cincinnati.com which explains Xavier's scenario's for getting the 3 seed. It was before the Villanova game, but with the loss there is only 1 scenario where they don't get the 3 seed and that is if Providence wins.

http://www.cincinnati.com/story/blogs/2014/03/06/xavier-bidding-for-third-seed/6121927/

From the article:

The good news is that the Musketeers will finish with a third or fourth seed, regardless of what happens down the stretch. Even better news: XU wins every tiebreak in every scenario except one.

The Musketeers are tied with Providence at 10-7 in league play. The Friars' lone remaining game is Saturday at 8 p.m. vs. No. 13 Creighton in Omaha. If Xavier loses to Villanova and Providence beats Creighton, then the Friars are the third seed and XU is the fourth.

The fourth seed plays the fifth seed at 2:30 p.m. next Thursday and the winner will likely face the top seed in the semifinals.

Big East associate commissioner for sports media relations John Paquette helped clarify other scenarios Xavier would win.

* If Xavier and Providence both lose their finales and fall to 10-8, you have to include the winner of Saturday's noon St. John's-Marquette game in Wisconsin. If SJU wins and creates a three-way tie, then Xavier is the No. 3 seed because of its 3-1 record against Providence and St. John's.

* If Marquette wins, it creates a different three-way tie. All three of the tied teams (XU, Providence, Marquette) would be 1-1 against each other so you have to find a difference by starting at the top. Villanova would be in first. Xavier and Providence would not have a win vs. the Wildcats, but both have defeated Creighton. Moving on down, Xavier is 3-1 against SJU and Georgetown and Providence is 2-2, so again the Musketeers claim the third seed.

Pretty sure that if Providence beats CU, Providence gets the 3 and Xavier gets the 4. If CU beats Providence, Providence gets the 4 and Xavier gets the 3.

I think Marquette is locked in to the 5-7 spots. If Providence loses and Marquette wins so that they are all tied, Marquette comes in last of that group in the tiebreaker because both Xavier and Providence have a win against CU and Marquette doesn't.
