I had an awful feeling about last night and every SJ game gives me an upset stomach. This team is not even close to the point where you can reliably count on them to consistently win let alone huge games. Time after time this team has chances and comes up short. How the hell can you blame the fans for not attending other than the diehards?

I was at the G'Town game and it was great to see us finally on the other side. Unfortunately we lost the game that REALLY mattered vs. Xavier. SJ fans need to get real if they think we are going to pack MSG with another crap team that disappoints. 2010-2011 the place was ROCKING. Want to know why? We consistently beat ranked teams, we got ranked ourselves, and we made the tourney. A few years of that kind of success and you will start to see casual fans and general NY sports fans come out to games. Until we are a legit team for a few years, only the hardcore fans will show up. Does anyone question why Mets game attendance sucks? Same reason ours sucks at MSG. 99% of the time the team either gives us a loser or false hope only to fail another year.This is a results town. Win, or it will be a ghost town. When I say win I mean meaningful games. Like the one vs. Xavier. Like the one vs. Nova. Like the one vs. Cuse. An entire generation of possible SJ fans has been lost due to the utter failure of this program. That's why you see guys 45 and older at games but not teens and 20 somethings unless they are students. Some people got to see this team at #1 in the country in the Final Four with the best team we will ever have with Mullin and co. Us youngins have seen nothing but trash. Then people wonder why other than Nova/G'Town/Cuse we have terrible attendance.

Also, if SJ wants fans to come out and we decide to play more games on campus rather than MSG, Carnesecca needs to be knocked down and rebuilt. The place looks like a practice gym or a community college gym. All metal and plastic bleachers. No seat backs. I'm in my 20's and my back is killing me by the end of the day when I go to games there. That should say something. MSG is too big unless we decide to become a national player again consistently being ranked. CA is too crappy. They need to either win a hell of a lot more making a hell of a lot more tourneys, or ante up for a new arena.
