The fact that they knew it was very relevant and actively chose not to cover it is what bothers me.

ESPN isn't not reporting the event by chance they're doing it purposely. ESPN isn't going to do anything to promote NBE or FS1.

Then they can't claim they are really about all sports...just their conferences specifically. That's what peeves me. I miss the days they used to cover everything relevant regardless of politics or conference.

"You Picked a Fine Time to Leave Me Lucille."

Minimal to no coverage of the St. John's win over Creighton. If you search for it on CBS Sportlsine you can eventually find a story. Same on ESPN.com. Not a mention in the Indy Star. It's all about Smart's suspension and the gay football player.

"And that's the way it is."

They covered the game this morning on ESPN. Highlights and everything.

On Saturday morning (which is a replay of the West Coast Sports Center) ESPN had highlights of both the Creighton and Villanova games from Friday night. As good of a game as SJU-Creighton was, it deserves more coverage. I guess coverage of the Friday games was good because nothing else was on. ESPN sure isn't going to show highlights of the Olympics' opening ceremony.

As a CU fan im not mad that this game wasn't all over ESPN. Hopefully the networks and the Jays will forget it even happened. No excuses for the loss. We didn't deserve to win that game. This isn't the first time teams have implored the strategy to, let Doug get his and stop everyone else. The difference is the rest of the Jays usually step up. I hate to single out this guy because he's meant a lot to CU but Jahenns Manigat needs to step his game up. Ive never seen him play worse than in the 2 games against SJU. Hopefully he can figure things out because hes been a liability the past 4 games. That said, SJU looks like a Tourney team to me. Now that they are playing smarter I can see them beating anyone. Oh well lot of games left. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.
GO JAYS!

I don't think ESPN make a conscience effort to not cover the game last night. If you recall, Sportscenter lead off with the Creighton-St. John's game a few weeks back. They chose to bump alot of games last night because they had the exclusive interview with the first openly gay football player.

There was definitely a conscience effort. When they had to figure out what had to go to make room for their 30 minutes of Sam talk and 15 minutes of Smart talk they made sure that the big Big East story was given the old sayonara. They covered the last game because Dougie kind of forced them to. The potential player of the year puts up 39 with a game winning 3 with 2.5 seconds left, they would have taken a hit not showing that. This game though, they could easily dismiss it. They have openly bashed the league for the last 7 years. They always make a conscience decision when dealing with who they cover and who they don't cover. Anyone remember the NHL after they left ESPN? You wouldn't have even known they still existed. They went from highlights every night of almost every game to maybe you'll get a mention when the playoffs start. ESPN knows exactly what they are doing.
