A little perspective here. I was at the game as well. Who was on the floor when Wagner closed the gap to six points? Not the veterans and not most of the starters. After the 15-7 Wagner run which shortened the lead to six, Lavin put Harrison, Sampson, Pointer, Branch and Sanchez on the floor and that group closed out the game on a 13-3 run. All but Sanchez are Juniors who have played together for two years already and they shut the door hard on Wagner. Plenty of things to work on, but no reason to jump off a cliff.

The point is, no Big East team should have that much trouble with Wagner at home with 6 top 100 players including a 5 star, and some of the best in the conference at their positions and even nation (Obekpa). Too close for comfort for 99% of the game. We might be able to finally pull away in the last 2 minutes against Wagner, but we sure as hell won't be able to do that against a Big East opponent.
Let's Go Johnnies!
