I know South Dakota St was one of those trendy picks before hand. Guessing that's somewhat why.

So everyone missed on TAMU for one of the first four teams. Nothing too wild. Dayton would've been a shocker, but the sinister side in me is convinced that the Flyers being 1st out is just lip-service by the committee.

I've read on twitter that Decourcey was the most accurate this year.

I saw that for one group- but not on the Matrix yet.

Bracketmatrix needs an automated system like the site that tracks AP Pollsters. It's practically useless all season.

So get this...
10 multi bid conferences this year. Look at the performance head to head:
Big 12 37-21 .638
Big East 31-25 .554
SEC 40-34 .541
Big Ten 32-29 .525
Pac 12 29-28 .509
MWC 27-28 .491
WCC 24-25 .490
A10 21-26 .447
AAC 22-30 .423
ACC 25-42 .373

lol. ACC worse than the AAC or A10.

It is rather putrid. Perhaps it is the de facto price for keeping the NCAAT "as is". Otherwise, maybe they do stupidly run off and set themselves up for first round games featuring Georgia and Cal.

I don't buy that football conferences breaking away angle, because it doesn't even work financially. They need the NCAA to run non-football sports, need buy games for revenue, need the NCAAT intact, and it'd be a PR disaster. But as you've said, a lot of stupid things do indeed happen in this world.

I just saw this thread cuz I don't come here every day. It is insane to me how the Big 10 got 9 teams in. Not only did we destroy them in the Gavitt tipoff, but the metrics largely don't agree with most of where the teams were seeded relative to their ranks.

Lets look at just Ohio State for example. They got a better seed than Seton Hall Marquette and Creighton and haven't gotten to 20 wins yet. Ohio State lost 4 of their last 5 games. The games they lost were to teams ranked 10th - 14th in the Big10 including Nebraska, Penn State, and Maryland. The only game they won was to Michigan State who was supposed to be on the bubble in February (they got a 7 seed too). Early in the season Ohio State helped themselves out when they beat Seton Hall, Duke and Wisconsin. But of their conference wins only 4 of them were wins against the top half of the conference. 8 of them were against the bottom half. Unbalanced schedules are so dumb.
