It's almost like we care about our teams and wanting them to keep playing. Crazy!

Not a troll at all. Been watching this board since the NBE formed, didn't want to post. Then I recently watched a stupid debate about importance of regular season title vs. BET, followed by this NIT discussion. NIT at the level of the BE is only for teams rebuilding for next year. It's not a consolation prize. The interest of being in the NIT is huge for members of the Ohio Valley, shouldn't be for fans of the BE. The NIT is about as important as practice is to Allen Iverson.

Dude, we're rebuilding for next year. Success in the NIT can carry over to a successful season next year. We are a team who needs to learn how to close out games and win. We are just starting to finally click on what it takes to win. Any reasonable fan would want them to keep it going. We are the 9th place team for crying out loud. I'd love to be in the NCAA's but i'd rather watch my johnnies play a few more games before shutting it down for the year.

There is nothing wrong with the NIT.

Lol, go back and read my post. We are rebuilding, and all I said is "we have a great shot at the NIT" as part of a larger post about our underclassmen progressing. Last year 5/10 Big East teams made the NIT (4/10 the NCAAT). Of those 5 teams, 4 will make the Tournament this year. St. John's is on track.

Nice try pivoting from your coronavirus lecture, but none of what you're saying makes sense.

The NIT is absolutely a spring board for teams for the following seasons. Gets an extra week at least of practice and if you make it to MSG, it's an extra 2- 2/12 weeks of practice.
