It's almost to the point where I "couldn't have drawn it up better" in the league getting 5 bids. enough separation- but with the bottom teams losing just enough to each other where none of them are in good shape...

I think St John's probably has the best shot needing 5 wins to have at least a shot- and favored in 3 of them. I think they probably get to 16-10 but the last 5 games are brutal.

I couldn't have drawn it up better to get the Big East the best seeds possible. Remember, bids are great, but each win in the tourney is equivalent to a "bid". With the Big East having a round-robin and a solid non-conference there were really only two possibilities. Lots of bids with weaker seeds or less bids with stronger seeds. So win win.

Anyone who has known me posting knows that is how I think..... Having 5 teams with great seeds IMO is much better than 7 teams with mediocre seeds.

The key now the 2nd half of the season is especially with Marquette and Creighton they can't take bad losses. The bottom 5 teams are all in pretty bad shape. St John's is the best case and they need to pull 2 upsets to have any shot. Marquette and Creighton right now are above the pit of misery- you'd like to see them stay that way.

Good point, 5 bids and 5 first round wins = 10 one and done bids. The seeds we're looking at right now give that a strong possibility.
