Dahmir Bishop has entered the transfer portal

You know, it happens. Some guys just don't fit, we had our supposed PG of the future in Quinerly, but it just was not meant to be. I thought when Bishop signed with you guys he was a good fit with your program...But, with the quality of guys coming in, I guess he saw the writing on the wall.

Side note, is Xup ok? Haven't seen him around in a while. LOL, just busting chops. I am sure there will be plenty of opportunity for trash talking and using that dry powder when Nova goes to Cintas.

Yea, i understand the angle that he probably got recruited over to some extent with Wilcher and Jones next year and don't blame him too much. I don't like doing it in the middle of the year though and saying it was because of "playing time concerns" isn't the best optics, but it's really no big deal. he really could not shoot at all and i'm not sure it's the biggest loss. prolly headed to the A-10.

i will say i was excited about him when we got him, but his shot was a lot more broken than i thought

The Bishop transfer especially hurts because he looked like he was going to be at minimum a reliable 3-and-D guy on the wing, which is really nice to have on your roster. I thought he would play significant minutes next year and start as an upperclassman. At the same time, it's not my college eligibility on the line with these future predictions.

OH Yea, batteries recharged after a glorious holiday week. Just posted a lengthy dose of delightful insight on another thread. Hoping our big scary dude has visited you guys in your sleep. I'm sure JRE has had a visit or two. Gillespie tends to do that for most of us. But hey, Coach Steele has only been outscored by GQJ a measly 8 points in 165 minutes of hoopin'.....wish the tally was 2-2 but that's OK, you don't have Mack to kick around anymore which is nice.

- A high school career where he was a fairly effective shooter, especially with his feet set
- 17 three-point attempts over 10 games while acclimating to D1 ball

I know which one I'd pick as a better predictor of future performance. Bishop is going to end up being at least a decent three-point shooter in the long run.

- 17 three-point attempts over 10 games while acclimating to D1 ball

I know which one I'd pick as a better predictor of future performance. Bishop is going to end up being at least a decent three-point shooter in the long run.

except we have no idea what he actually shot in high school and his form was broken as hell. i'm sure he was better than a 10% shooter, but i'm skeptical of his potential to ever become a good/great shooter

Maybe YOU have no idea, but don't automatically extend that to other people. There are plenty of recruiting reports for players' high school play. They don't show up at college out of nowhere.

Yes, his form is ugly, but we frequently see guys put up solid percentages with bad form. Bad form just puts a ceiling on shooting, and I don't expect 40+% from those dudes.
