St. John's Upgrading Facilities

Finally...it's about time! Since Cragg has come here from Duke, he has been doing a great job trying to get this going. The blueprints are being made and it looks like renovations will take place to Carnesecca Arena and probably other facilities too.

Great news for the Johnnies. I was already impressed with Cragg when he was hired, and this strategic plan just solidifies it. It's really nice to see many of our programs investing in facilities.

Mike Cragg was a fantastic hire. I no longer worry about the direction of the Athletics programs including men's hoops. I am hoping that Chris turns out to be the best hire since Lou but we'll see. At least if a change needs to be made, I have full confidence in Cragg and his team.

Congrats Johnnies, you're definitely on the right path with that guy, now we just need all the other ADs to focus solely on Men's Basketball, the straw that stirs the drink and the horse that pulls the wagon, the quarterback, the top of the mountain. I worry that some ADs focus too much on women's sports and forget what drives the bus.

Kudos.

Not only are you doing it the right way - solid visioning and planning - but you're enlisting the services of very experienced and successful firms to help you get there.

As much as anyone may bitch about or rag on Duke, it's probably safe to say that it is an institution that truly has its act fully together. Pulling your AD from there was a masterstroke.

Each time news like this comes up from one of our schools, you can't begin to imagine how relieved I am to not have Xavier in the A10 any longer. The lack of commitment on the part of a number of the schools in that conference is truly embarrassing. In contrast, the BE members really do have their acts together in this key area.

At any rate, good luck with the plan moving forward.

Obviously a great news for St. John's. But weren't they talking about moving most of their games to the MSG? That seems kind of strange when paired with their plans to upgrade the Carnesecca.
