Villanova wins by 20 at Colgate today in the very first game of the 2019 season. UConn on deck this Thursday against FCS Wagner. Huskies still haven't made any announcements regarding 2020 scheduling, when it's anticipated they'll be playing as an independent as part of the Big East move. I'm sure Benedict has a lot of balls in the air in terms of building out the schedule, and likely wants to announce an initial slate of games rather than letting them trickle out piecemeal, but I expected that something would have gotten out by now.

UConn loses against Illinois in what can fairly be called a mild moral victory, Villanova handles Lehigh, Georgetown rolls against Marist, and Butler squeaks out a win against what I think is a D-2 team.

Seems to me like it’s sort of SEC and then everyone else playing for scraps.

Villanova wins in overtime 52-45 against ranked-fifth-in-FCS Towson. Butler and UConn do poorly.

From ESPN:

Under the radar game of the week
Most college football fans were fixated by Florida's upset of Auburn, but the Gators weren't the only Division I team with a drama-filled push to get to 6-0. Villanova QB Daniel Smith capped a 75-yard drive with a 1-yard TD pass to DeeWil Barlee with 1:59 to play to pull ahead of William & Mary for the win. The Wildcats are the first FCS team to 6-0 and, along with North Dakota State and a trio of 3-0 Ivy Leaguers, are the final remaining undefeated teams at the FCS level.
