The Creighton-Butler game last night was entertaining. Butler looked very good in the second half despite losing the game. Those two teams could be on a collision path in the BE tournament. Considering how young the Jays are this year, they're really exceeding expectations. Butler is too.

Based on the current standings, I think Xavier finishes first in the BE regular season (they will beat Creighton in Cincinnati), Creighton finishes second, Butler finishes third and Providence sneaks into fourth place. X, C and B will go to the NCAA tournament.

Go Bluejays!

Providence is the first BE team to punch their ticket to the 2016 Big East Championshp. With their latest win at Creighton, they're officially the hottest team in the league on a six-match winning streak. They also did not lose a game in the month of October.

Finished in first place in the BE with their win over SJU tonight. Great job especially considering the loss of Steeves and Machado for the season. I'm wondering if these two guys will take a medical redshirt year and return next season? Both are graduating this Spring.

Despite the loss last night, congratulations to the Friars soccer team on a great season, especially considering some of their key injuries. They deserve a spot in the NCAA tournament. It looked like Providence made some major renovations to their stadium. That place is like Morrison Stadium East -- almost 2600 fans last night, and they were loud. They may be 1300 miles from Omaha, but Providence is shaping up to be my favorite rival for the Jays in the BE. Looking forward to next year's battle. Now if we could only beat your basketball team.

Good luck to Butler after winning last night. Looking forward to round 2.

Go Jays!

Yes, new field/stadium this year (links below). It was previously a parking lot and softball field. Hopefully this helps keep the program relatively strong, as they have been decent in recent years. Would love to see PC make the tournament. Hope the URI loss doesn't kill them.
