Butler turned in one of its strongest defensive efforts of the season and wound up with a 0-0 tie in double-overtime at No. 14 Indiana. The Bulldogs are 2-2-3 on the season. Bragging rights for the state will have to be split 50/50.

The Bulldogs weathered a persistent attack throughout the match. Indiana unleashed 22 shots in the 110-minute contest, including five shots on goal. Butler's defense didn't yield to the assault.

Senior Andy Holte was given his first start of the season in goal, and he more than answered the call. Holte stopped all five of Indiana's shots on goal, earning his first shutout of the season. Holte had four saves in the second half, when the Hoosiers launched nine shots, and he added his final save in the second overtime period.

Butler finished with ten shots against IU, including three shots on goal. Indiana had 17 shots in regulation play, and then added five more attempts in the two overtime periods. The Hoosiers had a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.
